“SOAP IS TO THE BODY WHAT LAUGHTER IS TO THE SOUL”!
On a recent trip to the Central Coast, I was lucky enough to discover a quaint, bijou market on the river bank at Avoca. As you can imagine I was beside myself with joy, as I adore markets and this one is a little gem.
Whilst cramming my basket full of homemade preserves, chilli sauces, and raw chocolate my attention was caught by a brightly coloured stall bedecked with native flowers, wicker baskets and the most beautiful hand crafted soaps. Being an ‘old fashioned’ type of girl, I still use soap and water in my daily cleansing routine. However many of the soaps on our supermarket and chemist shelves harbour a lengthy list of unpronounceable and undesirable, chemical ingredients, not to mention artificial colours and fragrances! Many commercial soaps are basically detergents and due to the harsh chemical ingredients may cause dryness, skin irritations and even allergic reactions. “No wonder there are so many people with skin problems”!
