A safe, all-natural alternative to chemical- and petroleum-based polishes is a DIY wood and furniture polish. Olive oil and lemon juice are combined to make a straightforward polish that polishes furniture and smells like fresh air. Since the polish actually contains lemon juice, it should be used soon or refrigerated to preserve freshness.
You will need:
1 organic lemon–peeled and juiced
2 cups olive oil
Directions
In a glass jar, combine the juice and olive oil. Finely chop the lemon peel and then add to the jar. A cool, dark location should be chosen for the mixture to infuse overnight. With the use of a funnel and a small strainer, filter the mixture, then transfer the polish to a spray bottle. To achieve a high shine, spray, wipe, then buff.
Note: Always perform a test patch before using any new cleansers, especially on wood.
